National Coal Mining Museum for England

Amplitude has a great working relationship with museums throughout the country, involving the British Museum, National Museum of Photography, Film & Television and the Royal Armouries.

One of our most recent projects has been with the National Coal Mining Museum, Wakefield.

The brief was to produce an exhibition using information and images based on national strikes within the mining industry.

The display was produced in the form of banners - in keeping with the miners banners used during protest marches. From the images and text supplied, Amplitude designed and produced the hanging display.

The exhibition is to run alongside the launch of a book of the same name "Strike, not the end of the story" and a lot of the research for the exhibition was supplied by the author, Dave Douglass, an ex-miner and union official.
